With just a handful of workers, the street fair was a GREAT success.
The Lord had me preach totally different that I normally preach. I preached the love, blood.
and power of the cross. I preached an extremely strong message of commitment. All
but a few people came forward and asked JESUS to be their Lord and Savior. We are now
doing follow up on all of them.
Marty served hot dogs,
chili dogs, etc. and there was plenty of new and used clothes for everyone. Two sisters flew from Minnesota
bringing a puppet stage and did puppets for the children. Their puppet show led many children to the LORD.
They were truly a
blessing to the ministry and they gave us the stage and the puppets.
New York mission trip:
On our very first day 12 people received the baptism in the Holy Spirit and several others did as the week progressed. Every
day we had a barbeque for people on the street where we had the opportunity to share the love of Jesus. This continued all
week long. From 10 a.m.-2 p.m. every day we gave out fliers and witnessed.
Jesus loves the little children:
One day we had a puppet show on the streets. We had a nice sized crowd. Approximately 40 children and a few grown ups accepted
Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
Womens shelter:
There are thousands upon thousands in New York City that live on the streets. These are ones whose lives have been shattered
and broken.
These are the ones who have no hope and many of them even commit suicide. God put it on our hearts to minister at a women's
shelter. It houses 200 women. They live on the streets all day but can come in for a bed and a meal in the evening and return
for lunch during the day. We went there at lunch time and gave each lady a nice bag of toiletry items, and then we shared
the love of Jesus. Approximately 35-40 ladies received Jesus. We took time to pray with each one individually. Many shared
their brokenness, how they had lost their children. Most were prostitutes. Many of them broke down and cried and we held them
for long periods of time as they sobbed and sobbed in our arms. WE TRULY BROUGHT THEM THE MESSAGE OF HOPE. The church is only
three blocks away. We let them know they are always there to help them. We invited them to come to the open-air meeting. That
night some of them came and we were so happy to see them.
